Hey there everyone. I want to propose to my girlfriend on Christmas, but I have no idea how to. I know that I want to do something really creative and sweet - something that will just make her heart jump right up and put a huge smile on her face. We always celebrate Christmas with her family at our place if that helps any! Any suggestions and ideas out there? Thanks in advance and God bless ya! =o)

Two ideas. Give her a Christmas stocking with the ring in the toe. Little odds and ends before she gets to the ring. Favorite chocolates, lotions, a favorite cd, etc., etc.

Or wrap the box up and put it on the tree--make sure that it's hidden away a little so that you know where it is. Then when all of the gifts have been unwrapped say something like "I see a last gift for someone---Ohh it's for (girlfriend's name). Then hand it to her. I don't know if it's your style, but you might want to get down on one knee when she gets to the jeweler's box.

I don't see anything wrong with proposing on Christmas,,,it's not like that will be the date of your anniversary...I say go for it...

There are thousands of cute, crazy, romantic and original ways to propose. Skywriting, bill boards, apartments filled with roses and engagement rings in glasses of champagne all come to mind. You don't have to be completely original because chances are, this isn't the kind of thing either of you do every day so you really don't have to beat someone out in the great proposal department.

Most girls really like something that has meaning to just the two of you. Most importantly, be sincere and honest. Say something romantic and sweet. Practice this part a little if you are nervous. You can write it down and give it to her as you propose or save it and give it to her later. Then she can reread what you were thinking when you asked her to marry you.

A lot of emphasis is placed on the perfect proposal but the only really important part is the fact that you are in love and want to be together. Just be sincere. Good Luck

Ring in Champagne? Naa! Everybody does that.

How to make an impression: Propose at a Trans Siberian Orchestra Concert. That would be cool. If I could do it again, it is how I would do it. If they have played in your area, find another venue and go to it. The music will be nice, the lighting will be fantastic and it could be done well, especially if you were to be able to get the band involved (you would have to go through a local radio station to coordinate it).

Go to a very nice restaurant (the nicest in town), dress up in a coat and tie and ask her there (like in the movies).

There are a few events that women will always remember. Their first kiss, their first date with you and the day that you propose.

Pairing it with Christmas is not a great idea, but it is an idea that will pass muster.

You would do better to propose before Christmas, before she visits her family, so that she can tell them the big news.

Me? I put the ring in a card that asked the question and hid it in a box of Ice Cream. When she opened it up, she saw the card and the ring.

It was nice enough, but I could have done better.

I didn't get a real special proposal and I wish I could have...but of course I still said yes.

Anyway, i am not sure if Christmas is the best idea.
She would probably prefer it to be a time when you are alone together. But if you do it on Christmas do it before you go to the family's house.

Maybe wake up early and make her breakfast in bed. Snuggle with her and just treat her like a true princess. When you feel the time is right just tell her you needed to ask her something. She will be so relaxed and calm (if you make it that way) that the excitement will be amazing.

Best of Luck to you and congratulations.

What about in the christmas pudding? It sounds cheesy. But its cute and would work for me. Just make sure the right person gets her slice hehe.
Or you could wrap it up, and put the little diddy ring box with the ring in it in a really big box filled with like little polystyrene balls then wrap it up. When she opens it she'll be searching frantically through the box for her present and then when she finds it, she'll be shocked and no doubt smiling. Its cute and unexpected.

Do "The twelve days to Christmas". Basically, it starts with one gift. In that gift it gives a clue. That clue leads to another clues, so on and so on. Make the 11th clue take her out of the room. On the twelfth clue have it read "go back to the living room, I have a question for you". Then be on your knee with the ring out when she comes back in.

I would advise against that. Women like to keep their engagement anniversary separate from other main holidays. It makes it more special that way.
Instead, propose on your anniversary of the day you met, or your first real date, etc. This isolates the engagement anniversary on a unique day, separate from others.
