Who drafted Jeff Lerg (Michigan State goalie--mike vernon sized)? I heard Colorado did, but I can't find records of it. The Wings drafted Justin Abdelkader (MSU forward) right? Once again, no records. And I'm wondering who drafted Billy Sauer (Michigan goalie)

Alright, well as far as I can tell Jeff Lerg hasn't been drafted. If hockeydb doesn't list him as drafted, then I guess he isn't because they have EVERYBODY. Justin Abdelkader was drafted by the Red Wings in the 2nd round (#42 overall) in 2005, and Billy Sauer was drafted by the Avalanche in the 7th round (#201 overall) in 2006. If you've ever got hockey questions about a player that need answering, try www.hockeydb.com. It's a great site. I'm not affiliated with this site in any way so this isn't just spam, I'm just a regular guy who is a hockey fan and this site has information about every player you can possibly think of.

Lerg wasn't drafted (he's no longer draft eligible). He has contacted several teams, but because he's small and not very strong (his bench press stats at MSU are significantly below what any NHL scout would consider weak) nobody is interested.

It's funny you consider him Mike Vernon sized. Vernon is 3" taller, and during his career he played at a low weight of 174lbs (1992-93) and a high weight of 192lbs (1996-97). I would consider that to be bigger than Lerg.

Sadly, size matters in the NHL.
