Concerned European friends re-assure us
in a nice political gesture that they don't think
all Americans are stupid, sure good for peace.
It was half a prize btw and no European would
have got it, just for spreading basic knowledge,
I still do not object their decision like some others
which seemed questionable. (Kissinger, Arafat)
Politicians should not get it at all, but Gore got
it as popular mentat. Borders are floating though.
Was happier when Mother Theresa was honored or,
Shirin Ebadi (Iran) and Wangari Muta Maathai (Kenya)
although one could argue, civil and women's rights are
political as well environment, peace is political anyway

Although Gore has vigorously worked on a very real threat it has little if anything to do with peace at this time.
From wikipedia
"the Nobel Peace Prize may be awarded to persons or organizations that are in the process of resolving a conflict or creating peace. As some such processes have failed to create lasting peace, some Peace Prizes appear questionable in hindsight. For example, the awards given to Theodore Roosevelt, Shimon Peres, Yitzhak Rabin, Yasser Arafat, Lê Ãức Thá» and Henry Kissinger were particularly controversial and criticized; the Kissinger-Thá» award prompted two dissenting Committee members to resign.[7]"

No. I personally don't see the connection between global warming research and the Nobel Peace Prize. A science award I'd agree with.

He says the debate is over (?) Heck, There NEVER was a debate. Let's have one. There are lot's of honest folks on both sides. It would make good winter evening TV. Imagine digging out from the biggest snowfall in Buffalo history and then sitting down to watch a discussion on Global Warming. What fun!

No one actually cares about the "Liberal Man of the Year" award anyways.
After all,
Jimmy Carter - Worst president in history and Nobel Prize winner.
Yasar Arafat - World's most famous Terrorist and Nobel Prize winner.

Absolutely not. He did nothing. A movie with questionable "facts",(according to the British high court),owns a company that sells carbon credits to another Gore owned company, a zinc mine, (I guess nature only likes the pollution you pay for), a concert series where all performers flew in on private jets and rode to the show in limos, and he arrives where ever he goes in a fleet of bulletproof SUVs. But then again, they gave a prize to Arafat, a known terrorist. Six of one a half dozen of the other.

Yes, although there are still many other people who also deseve it, he made a big difference by bringing the issue of global warming to the people. He made it known. We all needed to hear it, but its unfortunate, no, unfortunate is not the right word...it SUCKS that people are not listening to the warnings just because he is a Democrat. Those people need to get their heads out of Bush's corporate owned a** to start thinking for themselves...

No! it is supposed to be for promoting peace. And because the world's most noted and award winning scientists, (the real ones on climatology) debunk the "Global Warming" swindle.
It is propaganda that is politically driven, and proven without a doubt it is earths normal evolution and not man made.
Some of the scientists include:
Roy W. Spencer, NASA's chief scientist on the climate
Tim Ball, Winnipeg
Prof.Shaviv, Israel
Prof. Clark, Ontario
Prof. Corbin
Prof. Shikwati, economics
Prof. Reiter, Paris
Prof. Lindzen, M.I.T.
Prof. Christy, IPCC author
And many, many more!
