He is a legend as a wrestler, but he will never gain my respect as a person, he is a monster as a person. How do you kill your wife and kids? It just doesn't seem like it's possible to even think about doing something like that. It is more of Mr. McMahon's fault though. He propbably knew that Benoit was taking steroids but didn't give a shi* because he wanted ratings. Mr. McMahon is the most disgusting human being I have ever seen. Maybe some other people were equally as disgusting but McMahon is pretty disgusting. The steroids are more of a monster than Benoit

Chris Benoit the wrestler was perhaps the greatest wrestler, pound-per-pound, of his time. Chris Benoit the person had some serious problems in his life -- in large part affected by his other life (as a wrestler) -- and ended it tragically. I don't know "why" Chris did what he did in real life, and I am not one to judge him or anyone else. I do think, however, that before we write off his entire career and forget about entering him in the hall of fame, consider that this man (or monster, if you desire) destroyed himself and his family for the business he loved -- and while he was alive, he gave US -- the fans -- everything he had. He never half-a**ed what he did in the match and destroyed his health and body to entertain us.

Before anyone can answer this question, consider that days before the tragedy, he was the favorite wrestler of MANY fans because of the fact that he worked SO hard. It would be hypocritical to stand in judgment of someone whose qualities on the one hand entertained us and on the other hand destroyed him.

Am I defending his actions? No. I am merely stating a fact that many forget. This business destroys many wrestlers and their families. Part of the reason we enjoy watching wrestling is because of the risks and damage these athletes endure each and every time they go into the ring. I am not going to take the high road, then, when one of them dies tragically and takes his family with him.

A great wrestler? Of course, and it would take a fool to deny that. A monster? If he is, then we stand in judgment of the business, too -- and are we willing to do that?

Chris Benoit:A Monsterous Legend!!..LOL
Jokes aside now...
I think that he is indeed a legend. One of the best technical wrestlers of all time.Whatever he did outside of the ring cannot take away the fact that he was one of the best wrestlers of all time.He has been proven that he had brain damages. However that does not reduces the fact that he did something horrible.I really can't say something bad when the person is not here with us anymore but i believe that he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame only for his wrestling ability..
That's what a Hall of Fame is..It includes great wrestlers from all the generations.I will not mention soem non wrestlers as Pete Rose e.t.c who of course dos not deserve to be on it..
Chris Benoit was pure awesome and i think that Vince McMahon himself knows that and in the deep of his heart he wants to induct him one day in the HOF but he is afraid of the media reaction...
Furthermore,as far as the conversation goes to the "media"..how can i believe that they covered and presented us the whole Benoit Incident right??From what happend to John Cena yesterday?(CNN cut a video and made it like Cena said "i took steroids")..We can't trust nothing these days...

Benoit in the HOF...
Benoit RIP...

He is a legend and if you think he is a momonster think again the reason he did what he did was because the steroids he needed to live took control over him and he could not control himself he will be the best technical in the wwe wver no one will ever be as good as him watch his dvd life hard knocks and you will understand

Chris Benoit the wrestler = Legend
Chris Benoit the human being = Monster

I can't really choose.

For the sake of the WWE, he should not be inducted into the Hall of Fame until the story with him is 100% clear of controversy. If anything the WWE doesn't need is more of it. I do respect his wrestling, but his last days alive are very questionable, and nothing is sure. Until then, I won't make a judgment.

he was truely a great wrestler. and i still say he would be a worthy hall of famer.

and about the monster part no one really knows if he did it or not..the police ruled other possibilities out..and i think they did a crappy job investigating. how does anyone know there wasnt someone else there....because they say this happenend over a weekend..most murder suicides happen on just one day...you people gotta stop letting the media rule your lives.

I consider him a wrestling legend who just couldn't escape his personal demons. In terms of wrestling skills, he was one of the best of all time, without a doubt. And as for his fateful actions, we'll never know what was going on in his head, and I sure as hell can't judge him for it. I may do subconsciously, but in reality, I'm not going to judge what he did, as there's someone or something higher that will.

As I always say, all we can do is remember the memories he gave us and learn from the mistakes he made.

Chris Benoit will always be a legend to me for what he did in the ring. He was possibly one of the greatest wrestlers of the business and considered wrestling to be a passion for him. What he did outside of it is none of our business. i still respect you Benoit.

Rest In Peace with Eddie
