Why do older men prefer young women even if...?

some women their age are much more beautiful than the younger ones they pursue?

Two reasons. First, we still see ourselves as being 16, so the younger women look more like our peer group. Second, women our age are less accessable, being on to our bullshit.

1. I think men see sweet young things as being "fresher."
2. They are more fertile, and even though the guy may not actually want children, the animalistic purpose for sex is procreation, and therefore the younger woman is more attractive.
3. Younger women make them feel younger, too.
4. It is the competition of the Bucs... the toughest ones get the better mates. They also want to show off to their friends.
5. Younger women put of with more crap from men. Those of us who have been there/done that, know better.
6. Youth is attractive. As a middle aged women, even I find hot young studs attractive. I find plenty of older men attractive, too. Always have. But they are usually men I know and admire. As for the type which get me flushed with heat just from seeing them...... younger definitely works for me.

Probably lots of reason. And it really isn't fair to generalize. Not all men are attracted to the same thing. The majority, sure. But not all. Same goes for women.

It's a survival thing, coming from the hind brain, the primitive part.

Women age differently from men, and so an older man who has a wife his own age, who is maybe going through menopause, even if she's beautiful for her age, cannot look as good to his animal self (the part where sexual attraction is primary) because young means fertile for a longer time, and therefore more desirable from Mother Nature's point of view.

Males (not only humans) instinctively want to maximize their offspring. They don't necessarily have an instinct for taking care of them, but they do have an instinct for producing them. So youth is itself attractive.

It's not the same in a female's eyes, because an older male (again, not just humans) who is not yet feeble with age would be her best provider and protector. Men don't have anything that corresponds to menopause.

Of course, in the modern over-populated world, such survival factors need to be adjusted to the new reality. Man's gotta use his FORE-BRAIN, not just his hind brain.

The real answer is that men and women are programmed differently when choosing a mate. A woman will seek a man who is powerful and wealthy over looks although looks do count if she can find a hunk thrown into the bargain. because he will need to provide for her offspring in the best way possible ie. good house all the trappings of life and a private education.
men however have priotities that vere towards female fertility so younger is more attractive because she is further away from menopause, Large breasts because it sends out the message although falsely that she can breast feed her young more readily and has the goods to carry this out. plus young girls are asthetically pleasing too.
So thats where the young bit comes in. we are made that way. Athough its also quite common for young boys to fancy more mature ladies too as they also see them as a mother figure but thats a whole different story.

Because young beautiful women will stay young and beautiful much longer. They have more shelf life so to speak. It makes perfect sense. And there are SO MANY of those around- if you are an old guy and can get them, why not?

Sometimes it's an attempt to feel younger. Sometimes it's because they are afraid that an older woman will be controlling.

And sometimes it's just that the pecial someone he falls for happens to be younger (-;
