I work at a Subway, and ours never turn out burnt.
But I'm sure the toaster powers in Subways vary from store to stores.

the subway where you go must have people who dont know which button to push as there are several settings for different types of sandwich. ask for it lightly toasted and you will see what I mean

SUBWAY bakes its own bread so the bread is nice and fresh yet they toast them? Seems like a waste, but they offer it to compete with Quiznos, but they don't seem to have the knack, it just makes it dry and crunchy provided they don't burn it. Subway should be "fresh" like they say in the ads.
