i am the owner of a pa 28 150 a l962 piper ..it has not been flown or the engine run in a number of years i need to know how to rebuild and check the magnetos .. also the carburator.. i cannot afford the high rates a mechanic charges.. i know how to rebuild regular gas and diesel car and truck motors . just need to have a guide on how to do thease things..

If you're not certified you may be in violation of federal regs doing the mag rebuilds yourself. Airplanes are like exotic cars, if you can't afford the repairs you shouldn't buy them. And the plane can kill you and others a whole lot quicker than a car. That's why the FAA has such strict regs on the maintenance and those who are allowed to do it.

piper warrior you need to get to a good license air craft mechanic.this is a couple of repairs that can cost you more than money I have rebuild several mags on welders and older gas engines knowing the problems that can happen I would never do one on a plane

check it for opens or shorts yes, a magneto can be re-wind, IF you know what ur doing I can do it
