"Philologist" isn't bad, though that is much more general --involved with the study of the meaning of words and texts.

The field that studies NAMES is "onomastics" [onomas is Greek for "name"]. A practitioner is an "onomastician"

a fascination with all words and their origin is covered by the words philology .. and since I am an amateur philologist, I doubt I am bored,nosey or lonely .. I have too much work to do and I am helping people, such as yourself to learn things
