how do I link a domain name to a website?

I have an Amazon.com website that has a url of astore.amazon.com/. The website has a domain name already. In layman's terms, how do I change things so that
visitors can just type in my store name(-----------.com)

you can insert html code in your page to direct to the new url
plenty of addons on www.hypergurl.com
or www.dynamicdriver.com

Step One - acquire the desired domain name ------.com.
Step Two - have your registrar redirect the name to the amazon.com site.
Step Three - Profit!
