You make a good point. Willingham is a great coach, and he never had nearly as bad a season as Weis is having now. I do not like the race card, but I'm sure that there were some at Notre Dame who wanted a more Notre Dame-type coach (white) at the University. Willingham had only three years there, and Weis is already in his third now. Will he be fired at the end of the year? It's already been suggested that he is more of a #2 guy than a head coach, and that he is too cerebral for his own players, that his system is too hard to learn.

uhhh no. heres why weis should be given more time. weis's seniors and juniors are the same guys willingham recruited. obviously at the time, willingham had a horrible recruiting class, so obviously the irish will suck this year because their jrs and srs arent any good. weis had 2 great back 2 back recruiting classes. so you just have to wait until weis's recruits start playing on saturdays. given time, these freshman and sophomores will be really good when theyre jrs and srs. and notre dame will be a good team again. just watch. in a couple years, notre dame will rise again. and no i aint a ND fan or Weis fan. its just the truth.

i do no longer think of it relatively is fullyyt in accordance with race. Weis makes a daft volume of money and is touted as an "offensive genius" from the NFL. he gets a minimum of element of next season to get some wins together with his gamers till now getting the boot. The question of race lost much greater steam while Ty proved he's thoroughly inept as a head coach while he went as much as Washington and ran that software into the floor to boot. Now i'm no longer asserting that Weis is large or something, yet he of course has a greater valuable song checklist then Ty.

He might be better than Weis but he wasn't doing much either. ND thinks they are a top 10 team and wont put up with losing. Weis will get fired in a few years too.

yeah...great coach..turned them boys in Washington into overnight National Contenders........get a grip, and get some facts. The Irish suck.....Weis is obviosly not the best coach ever....but as much of the problem is from Willinghams recruiting (or more correctly, lack of it). Weis has freshman and Sophties....all the Juniors and Seniors (what precious few there are) are from WQillingham...and from the 32 and 40 th ranked recruitng classes.
Is Weis head coach material?.....get off the Bandwagon, and see what happens after he brings in his own guys. Freshmen don't win games for anybody. If he stinks it up next season...then yeah, time to go. Until then.....no one knows...and those who think they do, are just plain ignorant.

Agreed.
I think (and I'm being serious here) it had something to do with him having a bad season AND not being white.
Ty Willingham IS INDEED better than Weis and should still be at Notre Dame but I'm glad he's not cos Notre Dame is HELL.

Agreed that Willingham is better, now. But a coach would've added, what, maybe 2 more wins. Still not a good season for ND.

I'm an ND fan, and I'm running out of defenses for Weis...If he doesn't turn it around next year, he's done...The writing is on the wall with losing to Navy and having such a bad season overall...
