when to shift gears...i.e approx. at what rpms i will have to shift gears...coz i aint able to figure out times...so who have been experts inriding apache 160cc bike please do tell.......thanx...

The best rpm to shift is around the 4000 rpm mark for each gear....Just maintain that rpm to ensure you get the maximum fuel efficiency as well as driving pleasure...
if you want to zoom, then don't change until it reaches the 6000 rpm mark in each gear before shifting................

It sounds like your new to biking you can change gear any time you like. now pull away slowly and shift through all the gears you are now in top gear but the engine is sluggish hardly any revs when you open the throttle. now change down a gear and the engine will be a Little more responsive and so on. Now for a quick get away. pull away with the throttle wide open. all engines have a power band once past the power band the bike will stop accelerating which you should be able to feel so change gear just before the power drops off.
