I would like to know why Christmas seems to come earlier every year, I mean come on we still have just over a month and a half and the stores already have out the holiday stuff and are playing Christmas music. I am really starting to dislike this holiday for the main reason that we have thrust Thanksgiving aside and go straight for Christmas. You can call me a scrooge all you want, I just think they could wait until right around Thanksgiving to setup the displays and everything. I would like anyone that answers this question to elaborate and give your opinion.

I am 100% in agreement with you on this one. I sell Avon, and they were bringing out the Christmas stuff right before Halloween. And the malls are already all set up for Christmas, and Santa's at 3 different malls this weekend. Even the radio stations around here get into the act with their 24/7 Christmas music halfway throough November.

Funny thing, though, as in a hurry as we are to have Christmas get here, on December 26th, it's GONE!!!!!

Hey, SOME of the stores STARTED putting out the Christmas Trees, Decorations and Inflatables BEFORE Halloween this year (look at the Wal-Marts!). THAT is definitely way, way too EARLY ...

This has happened due to GREED ... and I find it offensive as well. I, too, wonder why in the world that the stores CAN NOT WAIT until AFTER Thanksgiving for sure ... because that would make sense (because at this time, the Thanksgiving Holiday seems to disappear, as well as (in the next couple of years) Halloween will disappear too).

This annoys me too, I'd like to enjoy thanksgiving before we go straight to christmas! But I still like Christmas! It's my favorite Holiday!

as a Christian it irks me as well- it is so commercialized that people do not think about what the season truely represents. I actually become a bit depressed during the actual season. Plus, Thanksgiving is the best, it is the one holiday that i can wear a sweat suit to because i know i would otherwise have to unbutton my pants. Mom's stuffing rocks. MMMMMMMMM gravy

welcome to the band wagon.
this commerical deludge has irked me for over 30 yrs now and it just keeps on getting worse.
you could do as our family, we buy one present and a gift card for each to open on Christmas. then we go shopping after the holidays. we have been doing this 15 yrs. now, and now it is enjoyed by the grandchildren as well. i hope that its something that will continue on with their children.

I agree with you.
It seems like most places just forget about Thanksgiving.
If I were to guess, I would say that Christmas makes them more money.
So, stores don't really care about Thanksgiving.
All they care about is making money.
