I'm tired, and the kids are with their grandparents. I think I will take a nap..... got a long night of drinking ahead of me (hopefully.)

Ron9- Wow.... I guess someone is jealous of us young ones on here who still know how to have a good time occasionally. Didn't expect a lecture from such an innocent question.

(Plus, if you would have read, my kids are at their grandparents. I am a full-time student and mom who takes care of her TWIN toddlers {even breastfed them for their first 8 months}, so I think I deserve a break every once in a while! Or do you believe that once you have kids your life should stop and you can no longer have fun?)

What age are you? "... got a long night of drinking ahead of me (hopefully.)"

I'm not saying parents can't have fun - but that's not funny. You are your children's parent first and foremost - you're an adult with a social life somewhere else down the list.

Again, I don't know your age or the other circumstances behind your comment - but in general, that's the statement of an immature adult.

Ask yourself - if you were a grandparent - and you saw your adult child post that statement somewhere - would you worry that your child was not taking care of your grand children properly? Would you consider the possibility you failed as a parent and feel the guilt associated with a rough up-bringing your grand children may be dealing with? If I were a grandparent and my son or daughter posted something like that I would be ashamed, angry and afraid for my grand children in many ways.

Just because your kids are with their grandparents and you have a night free to yourself - doesn't mean you should go out and get drunk? A parent of any kids, not to mention multiple kids, needs to force themselves to grow out of that stage of their lives. Go to dinner and a movie with your girlfriends - then go home and take a long bubble bath or something - you deserve to relax and enjoy yourself. But "a long night of drinking" should no longer be on the menu - ever.

I'm sure I'm not getting "best answer" for this one. Rarely do when you tell someone something they don't want to hear - even when you and they both know it's the truth.

Be the best person you can be, be the best parent you can be - no one is asking you to be perfect - but you should strive for excellence. If you need help - get it - go to the doctor, they'll give you options ... same for smoking - for any smokers reading this - the best gift you could ever give your kids, besides your love, is to never touch another cigarette in your life - kids are perceptive, even young ones know it's hard to quit - you'll be their personal heroes if you make it happen.

Good luck.

Oh, and by the way - naps are great - definitely take one - just don't go get wasted afterwards.

I'm 13, and my school starts at 7:30, so i have to get up at 6:00 to get ready, then this morning i had to get up at 8:00 to do yard work, so I'm really tired. I'd agree.
