I have a 25 gallon tank planted etc it has 2 hillstream loaches and 8 white clouds, (hillstream loach/butterfly setup is fine, algae, wood, high flow over their patch etc so no advice please). I know red tailed sharks (which are actually catfish) can live with the loaches but i need to know if they can live with white cloud mountain minnows.(i also know to only get one shark)
p.s please no advice on being overstocked, understocked, hillsttream loach setups etc. the tank is overfiltered and has a aerator etc.
so basically can the red tailed shark live with the minnows
Thanks for any answers!

** Edit ** You can add a single red tail to your tank. Make sure you have low cover to provide hiding spots because red tails need that. All of your other conditions/parameters are compatible. Good Luck!

With all due respect, you preface your question by essentially stating you "know everything". I'm struggling to understand precisely what it is that you don't know.

There are many extremely knowledgeable aquarists providing assistance to users of this forum. However, your less than humble demeanor is preventing most from advising you.

Yes, red tails and white clouds can co-exist.

From personal experiance most Red Tail Sharks can be quite terratorial and as they get larger will constantly harrass smaller and/or slower moving tank mates. As beautiful and entertaining a breed as they are I just wouldn't risk keeping one with your White Clouds.

As has been mentioned, check the tempreture needed for the Red Tailed Shark. I think your present set-up is too cold for it.

Look up the water temperatures for your fish, and believe what they recommend, then get rid of the Red Tail.

as long as the r.t.b shark is not too big(no bigger that 2 - 2.5 inches)bigger 1s will see the w.c.m.m. as food and will nip their fins.. it should be no probs.hope it goes well..jay
