I am 17 and a junior in high school and my boyfriend and I have been “sexually active” for the past year now! No one in my family knew….but now my older sister does. My sister is 26 so I when I was younger I always thought she was so cool and looked up to her. But yesterday she came home to visit and I didn’t know she was coming and I a few days before I had bought a pregnancy test because I thought I might have been pregnant. Fortunately I ended up getting my period the next day. But anyways, I had it in the bag in my room and I had been meaning to put it away so no one saw it, but when my sister came into my room to say hi I’m pretty sure she saw it. She acted like she didn’t see it but I know she did. Earlier today when she was leaving, she was like Hey call me sometime so we can talk and go out to lunch and catch up. I want to call her but I’m so scared to talk with her. It’s going to be awkward and I won’t know what to say to her. I don’t want her to think I’m a little slu*t or anything. What should I say and do?

I'm not going to be the type that says you're too young. You're going to do what you want regardless if someone on the internet tells you not to. It's your decision. If you and your sister are close, just explain it to her... IF she asks. From the sound of it, I don't think she saw it. No biggie. You can't run from your fears. Facing them will make you stronger. She's your sister and she loves you. She just wants to look out for you. Call her and go to lunch! Don't sweat it! Good luck!!!

First off she is your older sister and you should be able to talk to her about anything. Second, you have no business having sex unless you want children. It is really sad how our society has just given up and decided that kids are just going to have sex anyway so let them. Let me tell you first that I'm 32 year old and started having sex with my boyfriend when I was 17 and it was the biggest mistake. We are married now and it has been the longest 15 years of my life. You are not mature enough to make this life altering decision. Sex is for married people to show their love for each other and to have children if they so desire. It is not for 17 year olds with raging hormones that are confused and think they are in love. My husband and I have had to work so hard on our marriage. We grew up together and matured together. But girls mature more quickly and guys, well they don't. If I had to do it all over again, I would have waited and looked for a guy who loved me, not the sex we were having. We can't even say to each other why we got married or fell in love in the first place because the sex got in the way. It was all physical and we don't have a very good emotional bond. Because we have two children we work very hard to stay together and make this work but I wouldn't do it again. I would get that emotional bond going, marry the guy and then have sex.

she's probably going to give you some sisterly advice which you would be wise to listen to .. sisterly advice is that you get a reliable birth control method and not worry about month to month pregnancy test. there is a shot every three months. device they insert good for five years. pills , easy / convenient protection. condom is also good. especially when combined with some other form of a protection.
unplanned pregnacy is not something you want to risk in HS . have a baby when the right time under the right circumstances.

Well just call her up and talk to her and if she has anything to say just let her know that you have been using protection and you know she may be really cool with it and she may want to know everything some older sisters are so cool about that cause now they get to take there past experiance and tell you with it.. You will be fine

Call her and go to lunch. If you have always looked up to her and have a good relationship, the conversation may be awkward at first but will smooth out quickly. Don't forget, she was 17 once too. She may have advice for you that you can use, such as birth control. If you don't think you are a sl**t, why would she ? Talk openly with her, I think you will be surprised.

Well, first off you need to be using protection if you are having sex. It is not the best thing to be having sex while still in school and then getting pregnant. It is so hard- a lot harder then you might realize. I think you should talk to her. She will be there for you. If you think that she saw it and did not flip out., then it sounds like she just wants to give you some advise on what things you need to do to protect yourself.

Be thankful yu have a sister to confide in. She is probably the best person to advise you on contraception as she will know you and your particular circumstances. Be careful in future its not much fun having a baby to look after at 18 years of age.

Call your sister
She might just want to make sure you are not pregnant
She also want to make sure you know how not to get pregnant
Being cool, and caring for your younger sister, I would be the second
Call your sister. She could help, and make sure you are using the right protection, and maybe seeing ob/gym
Good luck

Well if you're pretty sure she saw it then i guess you should talk to her about it. I mean the worst thing she can do is find out and get had but she'll get over it. After all for some reason you admire her don't you?
