You do not have to listen to an unchristian dogma if you don't want to. It is up to you. If you are strong in your convictions, and have done proper research into their dogma, you can help in giving the gospel to them, if god will open their hearts to listen to you.

It is not rude to not answer the door for an uninvited guest. The same thing goes for telemarketing calls.

I am not obligated to answer my door or my phone if I do not want to be bothered.

I get telemarketers calling while I am eating dinner and JW's or salesmen ringing the doorbell when I am putting my son to bed for a nap, or just getting home from work.

However, I do think it is rude to call or ring doorbells to solicit your products or services. If I am looking for something, I will look it up. I don't want to be "sold to" in my own home, unless I called you and asked you to come.

It isn't wrong, but people who are happy with their own religion really don't want to be converted. Jehovah Witnesses are unique in the way they practice religion and many people do not agree with them. That is why you got four thumbs down, not because it's wrong, but because people disagree.

Perhaps the "thumbs-down" were from individuals who assumed the refusal to answer the door implied a "snub" from a scheduled appointment.

Jehovah's Witnesses do perform such "return visits", but are perhaps best known for their regular door to door canvassing.

Personally, I think that if you answer the door, they take that to mean that you do want to start a conversation with them.
I don't answer. They can take that to mean that I was busy in the laundry room, bathroom, on the phone... I'm not obligated to answer my door just because someone shows up, especially unannounced!

It's just not something to talk about. It's like putting down someones religion, their ppl just like everyone else so why do u have to single them out. Their not putting a knife to ur neck and making u choose their religion, their just trying to explain the religion b/c cause ppl make assumptions about it.

It's annoying. Sunday to me is a day for sleeping. I'd be angry if anyone knocked on my door/rang my doorbell at 7 a.m! They come down my street 5 cars deep!

It is not wrong. But I do believe you stated that it is RUDE not to answer. That is why you got thumbs down.

You can answer your door or not answer your door to who ever you want... and I shall do the same.
