only when i was a kid...my family lived in the country and we would go out together and look for the one we wanted. when we finally found it, dad would chop it down and we would carry it back home.

we also planted trees on earth day when i was a kid....so one tree down for christmas...and 6 up for earthday...i think we're square.

every year when I was younger. One year, after my first party where alcohol was served, my father woke me up at 0600 to go find the perfect tree. He knew I was hungover as heck, but wouldn't change tradition. Did I mention I was 13 and had had three long island ice teas because I iddn't know what was in them?

Yeah. There are Christmas tree farms where you go wander through acres of trees, find one you like, and take a saw to it.
