Subject: your deleted question..

Message: Dear TruthSeeker. I've had the same thing happen to me. I was emailed by someone who told me that a good number of the controversial questions are posted by Yahoo employees just to stir things up. These types of questions are usually posted in areas where religious/gay/lesbian/govt/immigration issues are discussed. Anything liberal is allowed to stand and anything conservative is bleeped out. I am beginning to think that someone very high up/hidden is using this forum to gauge or swing public opinion. I once spoke for 15 minutes at my local city council meeting when they tried to pass a resolution to condemn the immigration raids of last year. I'll tell you which side I spoke for if you email me, but I had 6 T.V. cameras in my face, which included 3 hispanic international networks (I am hispanic). When the 11 P.M. news came around, I took to flipping channels, and I didn't appear for one second...So, tell me, is there free speech? I hope to hear from you..Fernando..

Whether or not Yahoo may manipulate the opinions expressed in YA, has little effect on freedom of speech in the whole country.
Frankly I see both liberal and conservative views expressed on YA. If there is any preponderance of liberal views, it may or may not be due to the fact that most YA users are young. You know the old saying, "If you're not a Socialist at 20, you have no heart. If you are a Socialist at 40, you have no head."
And, did you expect to see yourself on TV just because you spoke before the City Council? I haven't seen many televised shots of any City Council meetings. The TV is more focused on national and state issues.
Freedom of speech doesn't mean that anybody who wants to express an opinion gets on TV. That would be too boring.

quite a few subjects right here: First, "freedom of speech" is a term used in the form, and it refers back to the government's abridgement of the liberty of speech, not television stations. it ought to have been a hectic information day (even nonetheless I additionally question the score of information thoughts at many stations), there could have been a quick fact without movie (that's the rule incredibly than the exception), or definite, it ought to have been some censorship on the element of the television stations (even nonetheless I hardly think of they're all in collusion as they're opposition). 2d, i will incredibly much assure you that Yahoo would not spend funds having workers plant messages on the solutions boards--that only isn't of their corporation form. only approximately 95% or greater of the strikes on solutions is automatic--the deletion of solutions the contributors experience are beside the point, the awarding of things/stars and so on., and the different applications. One worker could be in charge for monitoring dozens of boards and that they rather have not got the time or the inclination to plant solutions. There are rather trolls who've not something greater acceptable to do than attack human beings, yet that's the character of the "wild wild information superhighway" and we are on the whim of those trolls. have been you to stay in a rustic that rather did not have freedom of speech, you've gotten a good time with what you do have--inner maximum censorship or not.

There is a difference between free speech and media spin/propaganda/agenda.

There is proof of free speech in the fact that the person was allowed to speak for 15 minutes about something in which he wished to talk. Had there not been free speech, he would have been shut up immediately. The news choosing not to show a certain p.o.v. on a certain issue is simply spin/agenda.

Free speech in a forum such as this is a different issue. This is a place where we have to follow "community guidelines" and "terms of service". Yahoo isn't impeding your right to free speech. They are simply flexing their muscles in their own community, which is their right to do seeing how yahoo belongs to yahoo and they set the rules which we all agree to abide by.
