Wow we have something big in common, well your way of learning can indicate your best book. I love learning about volcanoes and read about every level of Volcano books.

http://pubs.usgs.gov/gip/volc/ here is a book suggested by USGS this is a good book.

http://www.amazon.com/Volcanism-Hans-Ulrich-Schmincke/dp/3540436502/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/002-7450335-8273619?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1195020336&sr=1-2 This book I suggest is a really good book, and the other suggestions beneath it are also good.

http://www.amazon.com/Volcanoes-Peter-Francis/dp/0199254699/ref=sr_1_10/002-7450335-8273619?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1195020850&sr=1-10 This book is a simpler version but still in all will give you a well rounded knowledge about volcanoes and well illustrated.

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9781552976838&itm=1#TABS This is a very good book, especially if you want a good overview before you start taking volcanology classes. This book also has some pretty good reviews.

Also, if you want to be part of our group [World Volcanism], you can, it is part of the yahoo groups. It is the best one http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/WorldVolcanism/ take a look at it. I had another group called Volcanoes but too many people were off subject. World Volcanism however keeps it strictly volcanoes. Everything Geology is another pretty good group.
