So me (14) share my roughly 15 x 18 ft bedroom with my two younger sisters (8 and 5). Our room is tan with a horse border around the room and horse curtains (we went trhough a horse-crazy phase). I have about half the room, but no privacy and neeed some badly. I need some ideas, but also mind that we have a ceiling fan in the middle of the room. I want a) some sort of seperator, and a new possible color scheme. Any ideas?
BTW, I'm no super girly. More of a tomboy who likes fashion.

I FEEL YOUR PAIN! Haha I'm 16, and my sisters are 6 and 4. We don't share a room anymore but we used to! And what we did was basically hang curtains (not sheets) around my bed area that way I'd have privacy to like dress and stuff. It ended up looking really cool.
A new color scheme? Maybe like earthy colors, like brown and green and tan.

At salvage yards I have seen those old hospital dividers that look kind of like a shoji screen but each panel is much bigger. You could pick up one of those for cheap!! You could put basically any kind of material you wanted on it and It would give you good privacy and also look really cool. You could do this whole project for not much $$
You could match the paint with the colors in the divider. I like the idea about pastel earthy colors.

when i use to share a room with my little sister we put a our bookcase in the middle and my desk right next to it facing my side of the room. well i was 15 and she was 4 when we started sharing rooms so she got to put up her drawings and artwork on the back of the bookcase and desk and i actually got use them. worked out great. and they were both low enough to not interfere with the ceiling fan.

What about making a shohji screen to separate your half from the others? You could make one fairly inexpensively with some folding louvered closet doors and some hinges. Or you could make one with stretched fabric, corkboard, all kinds of things. Search for "make folding screen" in your web browser.
