My cousin just got released from prison. He was in there for 5 years. He had 18 felonies and 3 misdemetors . so a total of 21 charges. i guess being in prison for that long really gave him a rude awakining because he really wants to change his life around. He is very discouraged though. he doesnt think any one will hire him because of his criminal record. He is willing to try anything to change his life around and we both know that the first step is to get a job. Does he still have a chance?

Yes he does,(not that Florida pays anyone well for that matter,LOL) How much depends on his skills and/or education. I Live in Florida and hire convicted felons with the necessary skills to earn the75$+ per hour that they get paid from me. they have a better chance than most other states to earn back their rights as well.An occupational license is more difficult to obtain and he will probably never get to work in a hospital and such, however, not knowing More about the individual IE: age, what the crimes were and etc. I would not know where to begin giving advice. Please feel free to e-mail me and I will gladly share with you my advice in this matter. I'm not a professional guidance counselor or anything like that.I'm just a person that could of wound up there myself and luckily found a way out before it was to late. And for the rest of my life would like to see people succeed where others have failed.

Possible but not likely. If any of the convictions are for theft, it gets worse. I worked for employers in Florida that would hire a convicted murderer rather than a thief. Many jobs require bonding and this cannot be obtained with felonies.
