When I first heard about this years back, I could not believe it...Talk about conflict of interests!!! It took a while for me to come to grips with it.
The answer to your second part of the question is that indeed there has been deep impact on America as a nation_in the most negative of ways!!!!
Regarding the IMPACT on the ECONOMY, well it all depends on your (or mine) social and economic status. For the rich and very rich, I would suppose it's been the best that can happen, since CIGARETTES, Oil, WEAPONS, CHEMICAL plants, etc. do invest heavily in Wall Street. And these are but some of the many powerful, companies who "lobby" constantly!!!

It is the legalized bribery. It causes politicians not to do the will of the people but big business. The impact is that it makes the corporations more money at the expense of the consumer. Look at the oil lobby. It also hurts the environment because these corporations just think bottom line and produce gas guzzlers. I would like to see all lobbyists in jail.

I'm completely against it. true campaign reform is needed badly here is my ideals feel free to pass them to a honest politician if you can find any.
1. u can only donate to people u can vote for
2. no pac's, corporate, lobbyist, or foreign donations
3. must be us citizen to vote
4. unlimited donations but public list of the donors and how much they have given
5. 6 month campaign cycle
6. no matching federal funds
7. no donations to political parties, the politicians can give a part of there raised funds to their own parties ( cause you cant vote for parties, but for people.)

Get the power out of Washington. IF companies want to lobby, make em lobby in 50 states or 1000s of cities.
That way if they do win, I have choices on where to go.

Needs to be outlawed.
It gives corporations control of our government.
Yes. Since corporations are in control of our government without regards to the American people, they can do as they please without regard for pay/jobs for the people and this causes wages to stagnate.
I would like to see Ron Paul become president.

Its impossible to take this type of funding out, it first of all would violate Free Speech but more importantly all of us could be classified as lobbyists if we give money to a candidate because we feel they will vote the way we want.
