I have no idea, but I've had several people (who I assume to be American) calling my Yorkshire puds biscuits.

I'm sure biscuit means the same in the UK and the USA. Soaked up by the biscuit must just be like soaking up the gravy with a slice of bread.
Biscuits can also be little discs that you use in carpentry, like dowels, to join pieces together but that's nothing to do with soaking anything up.

lol i can relate to you....a biscuit is like a bread roll but probably made with more butter. They can be really good. Now the part i don't understand is them being soaked in gravy. I come from an italian home and i've never eaten biscuits and gravy....honestly sounds kind of gross.

It's like a dinner roll, but with buttermilk & more of a crumbly texture ... I think others (England & Australia mean cookie when they say biscuit ...) Here it's a type of bread. Great with gravy & other sauces. It's not sweet.

I don't know if you are actually being funny here and I'm "not getting it" in which case///NEVERMIND!! But........
Even here in America there is no clear single thing meant by biscuit! Manytimes crackers and hard-toasted items are called biscuits...and then there are the crumbly Mcdonalds or kfc type things also called biscuits...then there are Milk-Bone dog biscuits...have I confused you yet?
