I think it sucks all the way around.
Greedy CEO's and stockholders caused it. Why pay someone $13 bucks an hour when you can get someone in another country to do for $1.50???
Of course customer service in this country has gone down the shitter and you can barely understand them. It just left so many people high and dry without jobs.
I'd like to see the people who are only getting $1.50, or less, an hour realize they could make more money and have health insurance and make the companies realize out sourcing really didn't pay off.

It was a way for United States companies to save money by going out of the area (usually out of the country) to have certain services provided where the wages are so much lower. I think it has been a negative effect on the American worker and has lowered wages in general for people. Even though some items are now much cheaper than they were, the negative consequences on jobs and salaries in the United States was not worth it. I believe there needs to be more limits on outsourcing. The other problem I am aware of is a problem with the accent of many people I talk to in other countried that I often have difficulty understanding when they are advising me as to what I need to do as with my computer, etc.

What caused it? competition. The desire to increase margin.
Has it had an effect ? YES DEFINATELY EFFECTED AMERICAS ECONOMY.
What would i like to see changed? Well, we have to look at the global market as ONE world economy. With outsourcing happening primarily in Asia, and growth rates in the double digit percentiles, they are poised to (and already are in some categories) replace the united states as the dominating world superpower. Can we let this happen? I dont think we have a choice- theres more of them, and they are communists. They will work their fingers to the bone, while americans watch tv and sleep.

What caused it? In the automotive industry, it is largely caused by unions. They have set the bar so high for pay and benefits, that it has become difficult to maintain costs, so of course, it's just good business to outsource to someone who will work for $6/hr in Mexico or China, rather than pay $25 for union labor.

i see it as a transition . we shifted from agriculture society to manufacturing society to technology society . we're just in a cycle , we will shift again to whatever is next ? looking maybe like a race to space ? americans have a strength in entruprenial ... but we've got to think about how to make more money come inside america. chinese people have almost 10 percent economic growth. they are quite hungry for ordinary american products .. sephora , papa johns pizza , jeans . we have got to push these lawmakers to make more agrrements to accept our goods . if they get to import theirs here / we are going to have same opportunity to export our goods to their markets.
