my best friends mum has just got re-married and my friend has told me she has just started to date her mums husbands nephew. But iv heard people saying that she shouldn't be with him and that they are related is this true and what can i do to make my friend feel better about people talking about her.they are not related by blood. and her mums husband isnt her dad.

Some people find things like that weird because they don't take time to look at the facts...yes they are related but not by blood. I would personally have a very different moral opinion if it was the new husbands son, but its not. if they love each other who's business is it anyway to comment!!! As for making your friend feel better...treat it as normal, don't bring it up don't mention it, just be there for her if she is upset, make friends with him. Good luck to them both as sometimes no matter how much too people are in love sometimes opposition from others can still come between them even if they don't want it to.

How cruel some people are - of course they are not related - they can date, marry and even have children together - tell your friend that she has nothing to worry about.

tell your friend not to worry about what people say because they are not blood related and there shouldn't be any problems. i have recently found out that one of my ex-boyfriends was my cousin by marriage and it didn't put me off, but if she is happy she shouldn't be put off by anyone. i hope everything goes well.
