Got the new Chevy Spark 1.0 LT. Not satisfied with the mileage. I'm getting only 12-13kmpl.
The 1st service is due this month, so will be getting new oil. Just wanna check which one would be the best engine oil for improving mileage.

I checked on synthetic Mobil 1, but its too expensive, so no point in going for such oils. The company recommends EFL (TOTAL), the other option which I was thinking about Castrol Magnatec.

Don't look any further than Mobil 1 it's the one of the least expensive of all 100% synthetics. Amsoil Royal Purple and Redline is much more expensive.

You may find Valvoline full synthetic, Quaker state, Pennzoil and Havoline a little less expensive than Mobil 1. I do not back any of Castrol products because of their non-creative meaningless adds on television. Listen closely to their adds. They compare their synthetic oil against a "mystery" leading competetors mineral based regular oil. Sooo_ what's that prove?

A full synthetic is your best oil for MPG, or KMPL.

The Castrol product is a semi-synthetic and wouldn't provide the same level of lubrication.

Yes, the full synthetics are more expensive. But if you run a synthetic oil, you can extend out the drain interval.

One of the AMSOIL oils offers a 25,000 mile drain interval, so you only have to change your oil once or twice a year.

It is not that much dependent on oil. Most of the oils u mentioned are good. After all it is the first service wait for some time up to 5000-7000 Kms after that u should get better mileage.
My Santro also faced the same but after 7000 KM she improved so just stay put and wait man.

that's a reliable question yet no longer sufficient information. you could advance it from none to a pair extra important quantity of help of gas intake. somewhat some gas is ate up jointly as accelerating, so in case you stress in the form you strengthen up/decelerate continuously, high quality of oil is of negligible value because of the fact small % of gas is going on friction between the engine moving areas. yet, if stable then you definately could word some progression.

synthetic oil will give you the best gas mileage but like you say it's expensive but if you look at the positives you get better gas mileage and you can go double the mileage between oil changes.
