Is it true that once you've already had a baby, you start showing faster with your next pregnancy?

Question

I am only 6 weeks along and have already gained some weight! My understanding is that it is water weight and is normal. A friend of mine told me that I'll start showing faster too because this is my second baby. True?

I've only gained about 2-3 pounds, enough to feel the difference in my jeans! :)

Oh yea this is my third ( my last one being 10 months ago) and i already cant button my jeans. In a matter of a week i was already starting to show. Everything is not as tight as it used to be and your body just remembers.

6 weeks is really early to be putting on any weight...considering the baby is only about the size of a bean. You will start to show earlier but that is NOT from gaining more weight...that's from looser abdominal/ vaginal wall muscles. Some water weight gain is normal but you might want to watch it if you are getting it so quick since it also usually hits later then 6 weeks. Every preson/ pregnancy is different so I would ask your doctor about any concerns you have so that you won't have to ask us or your friends for real medical advice.

I started to show at about 2 months but that was because I had just delivered my first child 4 months before. As for water gain I've had none so far but with my first I did but it was generally restricted to my hands and feet.

I beleive it rather is real which you teach swifter with next pregnancies. With my first i did not teach till 4-5 months. With my 2d, i develop into exhibiting at 2-3 months and now i'm on my 0.33 and am particular i would be exhibiting quickly. Well yeah iv actually noiced this 2!! With my first baby i didnt show till 15-18 weeks an with my 2nd a little earlier, mayb 13 weeks or so. Im 12 weeks pregnant now an i can already notice a tiny bump!! x

I didn't start showing with my first until about 7 months and with my second, it was around 4 months. So in my case it is true. Every woman's body is different though.

No...when my Mother was pregnant with me, she had to stay on bed rest for the last 2 months of her pregnancy because she got so big. Then her next pregnancy she barely showed at all...

You will start to show sooner because it "remembers" how it stretched for you first pregnancy so it will do it easier. It seems like I started to show right when I found out I was pregnant again.

Yes it is true. With your first baby your ab muscles are stil tight and untampered so it takes alot to "bust" through that. With your second+ baby your muscles are already stretched out so as soon as your baby starts growing it is able to poke outward much easier.

Well with my current pregnancy I looked really bloated a lot earlier than I was the first time. I'm definitely bigger now than I was at this point with my first, but that's not always the norm.

I've seen that happen with many of my friends (I've only had 1). But all my friends who are on #2, definitely start showing earlier.
