What would you rarther be in a cateorgary 5 hurricane or an F5 tornado?

That is a tough question. An F5 tornado is total destruction. Anything in the direct path of the tornado is completely and utterly destroyed. A category 5 hurricane is not as destructive but affects a greater overall area. More people are affected but there is a much greater chance of having something left to rebuild from.
I would rather be in the direct path of a category 5 hurricane but I would rather have a near miss from a F5 tornado.

Well... in my opinion I would rather have the tornado because, first of all I've never seen one and don't want see one but interested. Secondly, here were I live, there are many hills meaning tornadoes will be slowed down, not making as much damage as a hurricane. A tornado could be like a few km wide but a hurricane can be as wide spread as a province or 3 eastern states.

Hurricane. I've lived in the Katrina Zone all my life, so I've been through my share. I can get away from a hurricane in advance if I need to. I've been too close for comfort with many tornadoes as well, but at least there are obvious warning signs with them that you need to be prepared for the possibility. Earthquakes, I can do without due to the total lack of notice.

F5 tornado, because they don't last as long as a category 5 hurricane.

Hurricane. Sometimes tornados cause more damage. Besides you will know about the hurracane to get ready for instead of a tornado.

Tornado because it isn't as wide spread as a hurricane so it wouldn't be as much damage.

definitly a tornado. hurricanes are much much worse and they take over a whole area rather than tornados

I pick tornado.
Tornado-They happen quicky and they are over.
I can hide in my basement.
Hurricanes can last for hours and you have to drive far away to save yourself. Most places that are affected do not have basements-and if they do they can become indoor swimming pools.
