Don't know why they give jim's good stuff a thumbs down.
Guess somebody's got a hair.

Steel lever, bend without heat.
Take it off the bike, and hold it in a vise.
With a pair of Channelocks, or a piece of pipe, slowly bend it back. Slowly, fast breaks stuff.

I forget if the shift lever is steel or aluminum.
If it's steel, you can just bend it without heat if it's not bent more than 30 degrees.

it really is least confusing to easily replace the lever, an elementary and straightforward element to do. I absolutely have heated and bent them contained in the previous, yet they change into extra brittle and smash fairly elementary afterwords.

You are better off buying a new one but if you do go the other way make sure you do one thing. TAKE IT OFF BEFORE YOU HEAT IT.

its NOT aluminum
its STEEL
yes, you can heat it and bend it, just let it air cool
the heat will damage the chrome plating, but paint it flat or matte black
