Holly trees like Chinese Holly, Burford Holly and American Holly grow in shade. Southern Magnolia, already mentioned, grows in the shade. Carolina Cherry is evergreen and, although it is usually purchased as a shrub, it will grow into a nice evergrreen tree in the shade. Chinafirs, Hemlocks, and Norway Spruces tolerate shade pretty well, better than most conifers (needled evergreens).

Dogwoods, redbuds and magnolias grow well in the shade in the south. This depends a lot on your zone.
