Or however they define bad. Or do they (you if you're a conservative) just say this in the heat of cross-fire?

It seems to me that those who dislike liberals the most are the most misguided about them.

No, just the extreme lefties, just like the extreme righties - we need to learn how to compromise - and I am including myself in there as well, I am not perfect

"idealistic and misguided" i like that! that is classic coming from people who thinks a person who claims to hear voices from something you can't see is speaking for it, and telling them how to vote.

I would have to say, I get along with most conservatives very well, but they tend to not be the ones who listen to ultra-conservative hogwash on the radio, or the demonization of their fellow Americans by right-wingers who aren't getting their way in the land of freedom.
If you were to ask them this question, I would suspect all of the ones i personally know, would answer "no". But then again, they also understand that difference of view is what contributes to strengthening any system and working out the flaws.
But of course, you do have some of those folks out their who will even denounce other conservatives as liberals if they don't agree with them.

I think we both want different solutions to a problem, surprisingly enough, with the same outcome.

For example. No one wants kids to starve. Honestly. The liberals tend to make up government programs, laws, rules to help feed those kids. The conservatives tend to encourage parent responsibility, private charities, and personal giving to help feed those kids. Unfortunately, while both sides bicker over the right way to do it, kids get lost in the shuffle.

Make sense?

I think lots of heated words are said in the arguments. Just look on here. How many ugly slurs are said by BOTH sides? And the slur just makes the other side say, yep, we're right, the other side is a bunch of bigoted name callers...

Not ALL Conservatives do.
The ones who hate liberals tend to have a strong opinion, and they stick to it and bash down anyone (liberals) who dare to contradict them. It's just a difference of opinions, thats all.
However, I personally believe that the liberal-haters need to be more open to hearing different opinions and compromising.

Conservatives tend to think that Liberals want to use gov't to pass a lot of laws to run everyone's lives and take all of their money through taxes.

If Liberals want to get a better image, they need to relax 2 of their ideas:

1. every problem can be solved by more laws
2. every tax increase is justified.

Yes I do. Liberalism is a mental disorder that is obsessed with self. I deal with liberals all the time and everything revolves around them. They want their health care for free, regardless of who has to pay for it. They bash Christians, who believe in standards. It is liberals who sue to ban Christmas. It is liberals who believe minors should be given birth control with out their parents knowing.

I believe many liberals mean well, but have no clue as to the outcome of their programs.

There are as many liberals in politics who are in it for power and themselves as Republicans. This particular issue is not partisan.

Yes most republicans do think Liberals are evil because they've been brainwashed by Fox news and Bill O'Reilly.

Yes, it amazes me. I'm a libertarian and I don't hate liberals though I think they're wrong. Their intentions are good and many of them are good people.
