The owner of the Saints is from San Antonio as is the owner of the Minnisota Vikings. After Katrina they had some games in San Antonio, and there was interest from the city and the residents of San Antonio in keeping the team, but the owner never seemed to make a strong effort to move the team.

In truth, though San Antonio has the Alamodome, an NFL team would really want a larger stadium, and it would make more sense to build that stadium between San Antonio and Austin (which are only 70 miles apart) as you could pull fans from both cities. This is what the Cowboys have done by building their stadium between Dallas and Ft. Worth.

As San Antonio is now larger than Dallas and the 7th largest city in the US it certainly could support an NFL franchise.

i don't care if the refs helped the Saints opposed to the Vikings, the Vikes fumbled 5 situations devoid of any refs assisting. Any team that has 5 fumbles in an excellent pastime would not should win. with the help of ways, the Saints gained the super Bowl 31-17 over the Colts. whilst it replace into an staggering pastime and a lot nearer than the score confirmed.... The Saints performed like they have been 2 TDs extra applicable after falling in the back of 10-0. Saints = super Bowl Champions Vikings = Favre-Watch 2010

Yep... he wanted to move them.. Maybe still does. But the name "Saints" will always remain in New Orleans. The City holds the franchise name on the team I Think.. All the Saints records and stats will remain intact and stay in New Orleans if the team leaves and moves off. If it goes to San Antonio it will have to be renamed and started over statistically as a new team. If the NFL puts another team back in New Orleans it will be an expansion team and will still be called the New Orleans Saints.

yes he did want to move them to san antonio, i dont think he will because of the fan base and revenue of the new team, this was going on when they were crappy and doing nothing important...and san antonio has one of the largest cowboys fan bases, i go to san antonio all the time, (there is this awesome bar on the river walk and its not far from where i stay) and there is cowboys stuff all the time....thats where their training camp is now, and i dont know what would happen between the people and the two teams

San Antonio has the Spurs... but would love a football team, too. They would have a huge fan base.. and that means money. It's a rocking city, too ! But I doubt they will move; too much of a hassle.

but I'm one to think its a good idea.
remember $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ talks.

does it make sense to put a team in Mobile, Shreveport, Waco, or Greenville.

n'orleans is about the same size now.
