The hunting of a live fox is Illegal regardless af the status of the land it takes place on.
Some hunts are still flouting the law but then there is other 'Chav' activity that the police also ignore.

I agree with Carl S on this one, it was yet another distilling of the british tradition when fox hunting with dogs was banned. Seriously, how can we say it is o.k to kill the animal if you shoot it with a shotgun but not to let a dog break it's neck - the end result is still the same and the animal winds up dead, the only difference is that the fox may crawl off into a hole with pellets in it to die after several days of suffering. Interestingly though the hunt can still use dogs but it is limited to two hounds for tracking and they are NOT allowed to make the kill. As well as this it is perfectly legal for the owners of the hounds to exercise the dogs in this manner so be sure they are on a hunt. The fact is though, hunting like this is now illegal and if you have witnessed what you claim your best bet will be to report it at your local police station and try to capture evidence of it in future. As much as I and others may not like this law it is law and must be obeyed until someone has the good sense to repeal the act. Before I sign off, I just want to say that I have never been on the hunt and have never assosciated myself with it in anyway, I do however, understand the reasoning for it and for the people saying how sweet they are, I suggest you look up mange and see a picture of a fox suffering from this.

Probably. As long as the hounds don't kill the fox they are OK. I am only partially joking. The point is just because you see horse riders with hounds that in itself does not mean the law is being broken.

You can still foxhunt as long as the fox has been shot in advance (I think). So unless they were chasing a live fox they were not breaking the law.

It's still legal on private property, but for an exact description of the new law you would have to ask at the governmental level.

OH MY GOD you infuriate me!!!!!!! foxes are vermin!!!! i am part of my local hunt and its brilliant. it is not as barbaric as you make out. it is part of English heritige get over it. there is a very fine line within the legal system look on the pro hunt websites the take the legislation very seriously. if you have never been on a hunt maybe you could go with your local one then you can judge. i know im probably upsetting alot of people on here but dont knock it till your more educated about it.
if the fox is flushed by dogs you can legally shoot it or use a bird if prey though you are not allowed to let the dogs chase it to kill or tear it up.

we are talking about the law!! and the rich. the rich are very much like immigrants.....the law doesnt seem to apply to them....only to us. (the vast majority who continualy put up with it.) but knowing Blair and he's bulshit. there must be at least a hundred get out clauses to allow the rich to continue doing as they please. there allways is.
