I just recently bought the CD "Wagonmaster" by the late Porter Wagoner. One can hear in Porter's voice that he has trouble singing the way he used to but to me the finished product is priceless. The bonus track has him singing " Men With Broken Hearts" and telling of his meeting with Hank Williams. Porter is accompanied by Marty Stuart's guitar. This is a lovely CD by Porter. Do any of you others have it or have you heard it. If so what do you think of the effort by Marty Stuart to get Porter on a final CD that we can all enjoy? RIP Porter

It's always a treasure when they get the final recordings. To me the last series of Johnny Cash's CD's were some of his very best work, especially "My Mother's Hymn Book". June Carter Cash's last effort was also very touching. Haven't heard Porter's, hard to find a good selection of music where I am. (unless you're into rap or heavy metal, lot of that available, I listen to my oldies.)

thank you for posting the address. ideal on the heels of dropping Porter Wagoner, it rather is devastating. My strategies on Hank Thompson? while somebody says "Hank," I usually think of of him till now Williams. a lot of people do no longer comprehend that he's to blame for taking that mournful lost-love ballad of the Carter kin's, "Wildwood Flower," and making it the country guitar nationwide anthem, even though it became his recording of that (along with his Brazos Valley Boys and Merle Travis) in the mid-50s that revived the song. From novelty songs like "awaken, Irene" and "Woah, Sailor" to heartfelt ballads like "the day gone by's woman" and "Honky Tonk woman," he might desire to do all of it.
