No. This question is taken off the premise that there are more educated people in the north because, well there are more people in the north.

But this question only shows ignorance. Intelligence is not based on who's northern or southern. Neither is education. The North just has more elitist schools. That's it. There are many of the finest schools in the south.

Prestige is the only difference. Even then, it's a slim divide.

So don't say anything until you come down here.

Seriously, intelligence follows a normal distribution, educational availability and population density will generally determine education levels. Most farmers I know are freeking masters in thier subject. They could publish papers on the subject but really, why? when any decent farmer already learned it from thier father. Not all education occurs in universities. It's a different culture and you don't understand it so you demean it. Fear of the unknown leads to hate. I've lived in New England and the left side of the bell curve is well represented.

There are many Southern intellectuals and many of the intellectuals of the Founding Fathers were Southern. When the North won the civil war, much of history was then written by and accepted from Northerners. This is why American history in the past skewed to the Northern point of view. Liberals often think of themselves as intellectual when this in truth masks their ignorance. Ignorance is abundant in liberals, as the heart of the liberal movement in any nation seeks to rid itself of intellectuals. It also seeks to rid itself of religion. Liberals indulge in consensus thinking, so they are often prone to vicariously assume someone else's intellect. This is something that is helped through the media. It fits in well with the goals of liberalism, as many liberals see themselves as intellectuals, when there are not as many as supposed, and at the same time that intellectuals are removed by liberalism.

No! There are just more lazy laid back people in the South. They have been given government subsidies for generations and they don't have much anniative to get a job. Why? when you get The Lone Star Card, cheap housing and get your check from the gov. at the first of the month. Just like the Katrina people, they expected the gov. to come and save them. I would have taken care of myself. But they stayed waiting for that check sitting on their stoop.
If you check history and go back to President Kennedy, He is the one that started all these freebies basically to keep the blacks out of the work force. It has continued ever since.

But some of us rednecks down here do get educated, just for your learning pleasure.
