If they run the table, probably they'll be grouped with the 1972 Dolphins, who were also undefeated, as the best of all time for one year. Of course there will always be the negative people who say they cheat, but the fact is they have won every game on the field (where it counts), and no one can take that away from them.
I have to discount Shula's comments personally, because he was the coach of the 72 Dolphins, and really should not be commenting. Big conflict of interest there...

Ever? no...the Patriots are good, extremely good, but I don't like EVER questions when you can't compare the teams when the rules have changed so many times, and the Patriots are playing in a very different era. They have more padding (less injuries obviously), the QB essentially can't be touched anymore, it's not anywhere near as physical as they used to be, and they are in the AFC East with some of the worst teams in the NFL. Not to mention you don't know how long they have been cheating. But again, I do have a problem comparing them to the Steelers, Cowboys, and Packers when they were at their prime. There is just no telling how they would match up.

What a joke. This gang of crap gets caught cheating, admits they did cheat & acts like the rules don't apply to them. They give the league a black eye & are an embarrassment. At least the Bungals' players were just common criminals & didn't involve the entire organisation. It's a shame they can't suspend the entire team, from the owners down to the bus drivers.

Only in the minds of Pat's fans. The STeelers of late 70's won 4 in 6 years and would have claim.
Cowboys of early/mid 90's 3 of 4
Cowboys of 70's went to 5 (two of those against aforementioned steelers). Won 2 of them.
So many teams would have a good argument

They won't.
How many potential HOFers the Pats have? Only Brady and Moss.
How many HOFers the 70s Steelers have? About half their offense and defense. And you can say the same about the 80s 49ers.

Why would they? There are a few other teams out there that can make that distinction also Steelers in the 70's,49ers,Cowboys so to say they are the best ever is a stretch.

Only the 85 Bears have come close in the Super Bowl era to being as unstoppable. The Bears had one loss, the Patriots own't. That will ultimately be the difference. The whining Colts fans with tears in their eyes like a Mass Murderer declaring "I'm Innocent" when getting seated at the electric chair will make it all that much more delicious.

Why ask a fantastical (yes, that is a word) question?
The Pats will lose to the Steelers and Giants.
Then, they will lose in their first playoff game.
They won't get anywhere near the SB.
