The most likely answer is that they have limited rhetorical skills so they draw upon those of others. Personally I think Sean Hannity is a loud mouthed bully who doesn't care about hearing anything but his own voice. In that way he is just like Chris Matthews. There are a lot of mindless liberal sheep on here too who just spout off their NPR, and move on.org talking points. MSNBC and CNN are just as biased for the left as Fox news is for the right. I try to watch a balance of viewpoints to get a good idea what all sides think about an issue. I tend towards conservatism, but I don't let anyone do my thinking for me. I'm not particularly religious, but I believe in religious freedom. I think the Republicans are dead wrong about 50% of the things they do, but lately thats a better average than the Democrats have been running. There are some democratic plans I support, but most are impractical and overly idealistic. If they were a bit more flexible then the rebublicans could probably help them find practical ways to institute their ideological changes. But as it is they just won't work. Which is why I usually vote Republican, because I think they will screw things up a little bit less than the Democrats would.

Many conservatives watch fox because they hear opinions that agree with thier own. Hanity, O'Reilly and the rest are actors playing the part of ultra-conservatives. They say what the audiance wants to hear. I think that people are repeating thier statements because they are saying what the people agree with already. As for why they use the same words I'd guess its the same reasons why librals tend to echo the moveon, and codepink comments; it sounds better than thier own disjointed arguments. Proffesional broadcasters are better speakers. You tell jokes you heard on TV cause they sound funnier when the proffesional comedian tells them.

I have my own intellect to fall back on. I don't need to parrot anyone else. I do read, and research many different genres to form opinions.
I would however like to know where Liberals get some of their critical thinking from.

I think many people have a hard time articulating their own thoughts and opinions. They may hear a political pundit express an opinion that closely matches their own opinions with words that best describe their own thoughts.
When another person's words express your thoughts better than your own words, why not use them?

I really don't understand it myself. A co-worker of mine preaches a lot of what he hears from fox news, which is probably one of the more biased new stations. So I really don't quite understand it.

Because one of the cores of conservatism is to fallow the father figures that know best instead of the representative of the people`s will and attack anyone who might present evidence of guilt which may weaken the strong father figure image
