& Moon signs have to match or be opposites? Should our rising signs match (conjunct)? Does our Venus need to be in the same sign and/or house as his/hers? Where should our Mercury be in relation to theirs? Do Mars and Jupiter even matter at all?

I'm sure that the right answers to these questions will help lots of people.

Hi there,

Well, I think Sun-moon aspects are necessary for a good match. Not just harmonic ones. Conjuction can be good but, in case the male's moon is conjunct the female's sun, the man may have problems with the "passive" role or emotional confusion. So, I guess opposition is better.

For some reason, the idea of conjunct ascendants doesn't sound very good to me. These two may be experience problems with such a similarity. Imagine for example, two Leo rising people...which one will get more attention???

As far as Venus is concerned, in case the Venus signs are not compatible there is a great chance of misunderstandings or (one of them) getting hurt...It sounds kind of risky, I think. In contrary, when Venus signs are compatible, loving each other is easier..They don't have to be conjunct (although, that would be a very good case.)

Mars signs...hmm, yes, they play a role, too. Especially the aspects formed between the male's Mars and the female's Venus. But, aspects between Mars signs are important, too. Not that much for romantic but, for sexual compatibility this time.

I am not so sure about Jupiter, though. Logically speaking, they should be important, too, taking into account that they represent luck. I guess they have to be compatible in order for both parties to be happy.

I hope this helps!

In looking for compatibility almost all the planets matter,as well as the part of marriage, and the aspects to these.
The sun tells how their basic drives match up.
Moon:emotional compatibility.
Mercury:mental compatibility.
Venus:how much each will keep the harmony in the relationship ,as well as the sensitivity they have to each other.
Mars:sex drives and attraction to each other as well as how well they can put their energies together to work on things.
Jupiter,Neptune:how much benevolence, kindness they have for each other.Neptune usually indicates a psychic link of some sort.
Saturn :to see how much stability there'll be in the union.
Uranus:how much interest, but more actually ,if the union will be exciting ,but over suddenly.
Pluto :how they express their will in the relationship, the transformational effects they'll have on each other.

Since you are asking about the KEY ingredients, I would say the following would be the most helpful in compatibility between 2 people's birthcharts:

Sun-Moon aspects - A conjunction between the male Sun and female Moon would be the best indicator for a long-lasting partnership, although to a lesser extent, a trine (different signs in same element) would work just nicely as well. This results in a natural male-female yin yang attraction between the two.

Venus - Mars aspects - Harmonious aspects present obviously contribute to the strong sexual attraction between 2 individuals. If there is a female Venus conjunct male Mars aspect, this will inevitably lead to trememdous sexual attraction between the 2. Again, a trine will work nicely too.

Moon - Venus aspects - Since the moon represents our most innermost emotional needs and Venus represents the type of mate we attract/are attracted to, this aspect (a conjunction or trine) can promote the flow of harmonious energies flowing between the two. What one needs and attracts/is attracted to are in sync with each other.

Sun - Saturn aspects - Positive aspects, especially a trine (conjunction may exaggerate the qualities of Saturn and Sun for better or worse) between one's Sun and the other's Saturn act as a stabilising force/presence in a long-term partnership. Such anchoring is particularly useful in times when the going gets tough for the other will act as a guiding force in helping the other to pull through difficult times.

With regards to having similar Rising signs, that is NOT essential as the Rising sign doesn't represent who we are at the deepest level. It certainly helps to have harmonious Rising signs but if one's Rising sign is in harmony with the other's Sun sign, it is an equally good aspect as well, for one's social behavior resonates well with the other's true core essence.

The sign that I don't really like is Capricorn but I don't have any Capricorn in my natal chart. The sign that I love, attract, but don't remain friends with for very long is Sagittarius and my moon and venus are in Sagittarius. I also dislike Scorpios. All the ones I have met are real bit*hes and cu*ts. And I am a Scorpio sun and Scorpio mercury.

Simply put since im a novice at this ive read that a mans mars and a womans venus in the same sign is the strongest bond. I am in a relationship that proves that attraction. But astrology is not a chemistry in and of itself. Youll never get the same results twice even if the formula is supposed to work.
