I have had the chance to see George Jones 3-4 times and every time his performance was outstanding. He takes the time to actually visit the fans. He also recognizes the contributions of others. He made it the hard way long before we all had television and videos etc to keep the artists in the forefront. I hope that we have George around for many years to come.

George Jones use to own a chain of "shopping center lounges" named the " Possum Holler".Was sitting at the bar one night talking to a couple of friends and the conversation delt with would Jones ever show up here to sing.
A guy sittin a few stools down from us said he had heard that Jones was seen there earlier in the afternoon and was coming back about 10 or 11 that night.Well the 3 of us laughted and said if he showed up we would buy this guy a drink.About 10:30 on the stage was George Jones singing window up above, after the song he stated that the guys at the bar that bet a drink that if Jones showed up owed him a drink that a Jack and Coke was fine.
The stranger at the bar talking to us was George Jones.
