No, it is not black. Emu has red meat.In fact the American Heart Association dubbed emu meat as the "new red meat".

the chef must have burned it...
its definitely not black... it is a little darker in colour than your standard beef steak though - same is found in kangaroo meat (which is MUCH tastier than emu), but still clearly a red meat.
Emu pies are tasty!

sure is starange you say it is black because all the emu meat i have had is red meat
