Anyways, BitDefender + ThreatFire, or compare at

(second link works)
Avast/Avira not 80% + , NOD32 not even close to the top virus removal-immunizing software :
http://winnow.oitc.com/AntiVirusPerformance.html
But it has less capabilities..
(I'm sure your looking for an anti-virus and not the copy and pasters that run around, and give anti-spywares/malwares like AD-Aware...S & D spybot, Spyware Terminator, Superantispyware) or CCcleaner..when your question is clear
Before people start spamming with AVG : I'll give a good quote :
AVG Anti-Virus is crap!
Mostly noobs, the naive, the computer illiterate, and children use AVG Free. People of their ilk love AVG because they say it is easy to use and almost never bothers them with any pop-ups or warnings. Of course AVG Free never bothers them, it hardly ever finds any virus to warn them about!
In test,

etc. etc. etc, ad nauseam, AVG fares poorly.
AVG has proven itself to be a miserable performer at best. Missing almost 20%, while trying to detect known malware, in some tests. Not to mention almost non-existent heuristic detection and infrequent "once-a day" updates.
AVG. = Average, at best!
There are much better free anti-virus alternatives such as Avria Anti-Vir:

and Avast:

The best anti-virus is ESET NOD32 then Kaspersky. NOD32 is the only anti-virus that got an Advanced+ rating in tests conducted at http://www.av-comparatives.org/
The most popular free anti-virus programs (AVG and Avast) have poor detection rates (82.82%, 87.46% respectively). Norton is notoriously bloated and takes forever to perform full systems scans.
I only recommend buying NOD32 (advanced users) or Kaspersky. It has been proven these products are better than the best sellers (Norton and McAfee):

I would suggest Avast. It's thorough and is updated frequently and best of all it's 100% free for personal use.

I use Avast, its free, updated frequently, and works well. The only drawback is that you have to sign up for it once a year.
