My other computer is a windows 98, but it doesn't have a ethernet, so is there an inexpensive to create a network?

The easiest cheapest way is to add an ethernet card to the Win98 machine. These cost all of about $5 - $15 and will give you a way to connect.

There IS no way to connect to DSL without some sort of network connection and ethernet is the cheapest. Once you have a network card, just get a router and plug both machines into the router. You have shared internet within minutes. Routers run 20-40 bucks (check EBAY or local computer store).
I misread that.. since you have a router, just plug them in!

#1 unplug everything

#2 connect your router to your cable modem via ethernet

#3 power up your router

#4 power up your cable modem

#5 wait a minute

... from there you should be able to hook up your PC and whatever else you want on the network
