I want to become as cold and sterile as possible to be more efficient in business and life.

@Stephen: Thanks for an excellent action plan. Sounds a bit sinister, but a good action plan nonetheless with achievable goals. Since I've acheived or am on the way to most of these I'm on the right track.

@everyone: Remember, all that people respect is success. Everything else falls by the wayside

Get a lobotomy because you are already halfway there if you think success will make your life worthwhile. Read the papers about celebrity suicides and destructive behavior.

Success is great, I once had a lot of it, in another country, and lacked a balanced emotional life. Life really sucked. In the middle of stars and important people, I didn't know how to get out of my misery. It wasn't until I learned how to integrate my personality with emotions, that I started to get some of the things that makes living worth the trouble.

This is a multi-step process, but understand there is no coming back from it, OK?

First, remove all joy from your life. Food is to be eaten, beds are for sleeping and clothes keep you from being naked. Never drink booze

Second, no entertainment for you. Get rid of movies, music, art and televison (except to watch the business news).

Third, poison all relationships, except working relationships.

Fourth, slowly strangle out feelings for anyone. You boss can help you get ahead, but if he dies, so what.

Fifth, stew in the juices of your own hatred and distrust

Then, you will succeed in being an empty suit. I hope it will be worth it

this is what i have been trying to do for such a long time...it is virtually impossible in the end to completely remove all emtion from your character because it is those emotions and how you deal with them that defines your character...in certain instances, however, it is possible to supress your emtions and think as rationally as possible...just think objectively...the best thing to do is just clear your mind and work without complaining to yourself how hungry yuo are or how tired you are or how unhappy you are...these thoughts can leave you weak and wanting to hurry up your work just so you can get out of there...

You will become less efficient. Emotion is needed to respond to crisis and notice lttle things about situations so you can take advantage of opportunities. What you are asking is counter-productive to your goal. You should learn to respond and manage that response to your emotions to become more productive and efficient.

you don't need or want to be emotionless in life to be more efficient. emotions and gut reactions are what make up who we are. they are a part of us. they help us out in making the necessary decisions in our daily lives as well as our business lives. once you lose all emotions from your character you lose the essential YOU. you are no better than a robot and robots have to answer to a master in order to do any job. i seriously hope you reconsider your question. there are better ways to help you achieve what you want without giving up your humanity.
