Somebody under the age of 18 is a MINOR. This just means that they are underage or a child.

Is a minor, a minority is a group of people that are few compared to the general population, especially found among legal immigrants, french speaking canadians are a minority in certain provinces. Hope this helps you remember minor is one person, minority is a group.
