unfortunately there are some in society that believe they have a right to 'attack' others, whether that be regarding disability, race, or sexual orientation, to highlight further their distaste for that particular person.
This is where I think racism, homophobia and prejudice comes in - this is where those people displaying these thoughts show their true colours and highlights not only their distaste for someone but just where their minds are set!

With Heather the press likes to demonise her and often they will reinforce negative stereotypes in order to achieve that. Also they like to describe people in a pretty 'general way' for example they will say heather, 50, disabled from Hartlepool which has nothing to do with the article they are writing about. It is a standard and outdated way of writing about people and trying to use identifiers to get the reader to connect at some level with the person being written about!

heather is being treated differently because of who she is and what she is doing. not because of her disability. as to real people I have not seen them referred to in a bad way.

First off Heather McCartney (Mills) is really famous and regardless she'll be criticized. Otherwise people can't get over someone's disability, especially when it's obvious.

There are good and bad people in the world.
Being physically disabled should not be a big deal.
However some make a big story out of it.
Some of us turn being disabled into a plus and move on!

I thought she was disliked because she is screwing Paul McCartney over their divorce. By the way, she is known as Heather Mills.

In happier circumstances, Paul become taking Heather to the wellness practitioner for a checkup. He got here to the nurse at reception and stated "this is my spouse with a prosthetic leg named Heather", to which the nurse replied "what's the call of her different leg?"

I'm not acquainted with your Heather McCartney.
But Physically Handicapped people are often shunned because lots of people love to hate. We are put into a lower class.
The limitations of the Handicapped is that of what others put against them.

People refer to people in the media with a hook - Heather's hook is her disability. Right now she is a persona non grata- so it - so her disability is too.
