Radeon 9550 is a re-branded and stripped version of Radeon 9700, which supports only DirectX 9.0B and shader model 1.0

Vista's requirement is DirectX9.0C and shader model 2.0

DX9.0B is a totally different stuff from DirectX9.0C, this is hardware limitation, nothing that u can do about it...

welcome to vista...

It's older technology that barely satisfies the minimum hardware requirements of Vista's Aero interface.

If you want to use all the Vista "eye candy", invest in a fully Vista (not just Home Basic) Certified compatible graphics card.

"Welcome to the wonderful world of Vista!!!"
