Because they know how truly unAmerican liberalism is. They know it's common knowledge that liberals repeat the lies and misconceptions they read on far left web sites. Since they know that we know what that means by calling themselves 'moderate etc' they may at first be acknowedged and listened to.
Funny how they cannot pull off the charade too long.
Notice the libs answer saying he won't register 'democrat or repube' tells us that he doesn't mind voting for scumbag dummycrats, he just won't man-up and register as one.

I'm fiscally conservative, I value the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and individual liberty where it doesn't impose on the liberty of others, and I am not a registered member of any party. I abhore corruption whether it be DeLay, Abrahamoff, Reed, Ney, and Cunningham or Trafficant and Mollohan.
I believe in a progressive income tax as about the fairest tax system that allows for some upward mobility for working people.
I think folks who rely on faulty generalizations, strawmen, ad hominem, smokescreens and other text book fallacies are weak-minded at best and hypocritical pandering sleaze balls at worst.
What does that make me?

I'm a...Liberal.There I've said it.But being Liberal doesn't mean that I believe in all things attached to being one.I would rather be called a Moderate Liberal.I do believe that as humans we are entitled to certain freedoms. But with freedom comes great responsibility. We as a society must make rules so that we can live together without harming our society as a whole.I believe in the death penalty, abortion, equality of the sexes and colors, religious freedom (that doesn't involve harming others while practicing),some form of silent prayer in school, however I don't believe in gay marriages, sex between children and adults, illegal immigration rights to services and benefits, etc.in our country, huge tax cuts to corporations and the wealthy.I say all of this because some of my beliefs certainly would disqualify my membership in some ultra Liberal circles.I am not ashamed to be a liberal much to the dismay of those that tried to turn it into a dirty word.I'm quite proud to say that I can think for myself.

The words of fact you talk won't in any respect attain the ears of the folk you likely desire to guard, because of censure that is going on in our present day government! in case you have a differing opinion than the President and his leftist supporters you're public-best chum mocked, or your employer is barred in some vogue! you may desire to loosen up and holiday out the 4 twelve months term Obama could have, and then existence can return to extra rich cases!

Some people are liberal, as I am, and some people are independents, moderates and progressives.
If you want to define people by your own labels in your own mind then go ahead but at least respect other people's freedom to define themselves.

Sad to say, but even the most ardent conservatives such as myself can sometimes actually be found to be a bit lib.
e.g. I still like the idea Social Security for old age.
This is definitely a socialistic idea.

The problem is that most liberals don't understand the true meaning and history of the term liberal. Liberalism is ultimately a despotic movement. It always ultimately ends up with forcing people to do what some think "is right". This happens again and again. It happened in Russia, in Germany, Uganda, Vietnam, Cuba, China and Cambodia. If people really knew what liberalism was about, they would call themselves progressive, independent or moderate, because that is what they truly are. Most people are not true liberals in this country. The ones that are are dangerous.

Liberal is a very general term, just like conservative is. There are varying degrees of both. It is impossible to just say liberal and have it include all Dems just like it is impossible to say conservative and have it cover all Repubs. Why is that hard for you to understand?

Because the political spectrum is not black and white. I'm moderate - that's a fact. If you take the issues I care about, they fall equally between the R and D as far as what I support. Still, to people like you, if I don't agree with your extreme right wing ideology, I'm considered liberal. Whatever...you can take your label and shove it up your...

I am a liberal. I admit it every single day. I define it on Y/A often.
You, on the other hand, are hatchling. You are an International Corporate Fascist collaborator. You will never admit it because you are of the void that is the one hatchling mind. You are fed your thoughts by the International Corporate Fascist Media.
And you like it that way.
You are the dysentery that has infected this planet.
