I am 6 months pregnant and was diagnosed to have hepatitis b. My doctor wanted my husband to undergo hepa-b screening and the results were negative. Is that possible? or should i ask my husband to have another screening? Thanks!

It's absolutely possible, especially if he received Hep B vaccinations.

Here is some info for you from http://www.epigee.org/health/hbv.html

Treatment: There is no known cure for Hepatitis B. Most infections will clear up within a few months. Those chronically-infected can be treated using the following drugs: Interferon Alfa or Lamivudine. These drugs will not cure Hepatitis B but they can markedly slow down its development as well as decrease the chance of liver disease.

Person to person exchange of bodily fluids: unprotected vaginal, oral, and anal sex; infected pregnant mom to unborn child; sharing of contaminated drug needles; piercing the skin with contaminated tattoo or piercing needles; piercing the skin with contaminated medical or dental instruments; receiving contaminated blood or blood products; and receiving contaminated tissues or organs.

According to this information your husband could have had it and cleared it.

Hep -B is highly contagious. It's quite possible that you contracted from another source and your husband may have an immunity towards it especially if he's been vaccinated against the disease. Good Luck!

Without any drugs, the baby born by a mother w/ HIV has an 85% chance of contracting the virus; the baby has its own blood supply and blood type. With advancements in medication, doctors can reduce the chance of the baby being born w/ HIV significantly.

It's possible, it means you haven't given it to him yet. My friends boyfriend ended up being HIV posiitve, but likely she wasn't.
