Most gun control laws passed make it harder for honest citizens to acquire guns. Longer waiting periods, banning certain types of weapons, etc. Since the criminals buy their guns illegally they don't worry about waiting periods or bans so these laws have no effect on them. The only people in favor of gun control laws are liberals and criminals.

Its false... I know lots of liberal gun owners. People, as usual, way over generalize things... a lot of people, liberals and conservatives alike, support a limit of what kind of firepower a person can possess. I wouldn't want my neighbor to own a RPG but I don't have a problem of him owning a rifle or a handgun... Most importantly I want to continue making some ttypes of ammo illegal.

I know that a lot of people just want to scream out that liberals want to limit ALL of our freedoms but that is ridiculous (the same can be said for the people that have a problem with conservatives). It is more complicated than making it that simple.... even the majority of policemen want stricter controls on gun ownership and these people are generally not liberal.

People really need to respect the other viewpoint... they don't have to agree but they should never oversimplify (and many times just lie about the opposing view) what they believe in.

True, but so does Rudy.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

The Militia is necessary to protect you from the state and not the other way around.

And you may notice that the right of "The People" to own and carry weapons will not be infringed, Is this the only Amendment where "the people" means the National Guard, I don't think so.

False. Gun control does not mean banning all guns from all people. IT simply means a tighter control over the sale and ownership of certain types of guns, like assault weapons, to certain types of people. If you have a criminal history, especially a violent one, you should be restricted from owning weapons? Absolutely. If you are trying to purchase a AK-47 assault weapon or a RPG launcher should you be stopped? Absolutely.

This was one of the reasons bush jr. won in 2,000 their lies about gun control.I fell for it and voted straight republican,an error of huge degree I wish I'd never done.I don't like the bill dealing with mental health,so many people have been depressed in this country and sought help and are better'but I suspect this bill would include them also.My whole family and friends have always been hunters and would not like any bill that tries to do damage to the 2nd ammendment.

True. Ultimately, all liberal movements are for the disarming of the population. Perhaps the followers in liberal movements are not for this, or even understand this, but the leadership in liberal movements ultimately wants a disarmed populace. The problem is that this leaves the door open to despotism. It is not a coincidence that despotism is always proceeded by a period of liberal values and false hopes in liberal ideals. The true problem with liberalism is that most who merely follow it don't truly understand it, and those that do understand it are usually dangerous individuals.

Hollywood libs like Rosy O'Donnell want to, She believes only people like her should be allowed to own anything. Washington libs do, like Hillary, so that you can't defend your self when she surrenders our sovereignty over to the terrorists at the UN. Not sure about your average libs though, they'll flip-flop with whoever tells them what to do I guess.

When liberals (not libertarians) get elected, they do what they can to stop Americans from legally owning guns. See also: Bill Clinton.
