The vast majority of Americans are incapable of processing and understanding a thought that lasts longer than a sound bite. People are busy and don't really care that much about what is going on until it personally affects them. It is a form of censorship to have our news handed to us in 30 second sound bites, but until more people realize this nothing is going to change.

Noise to signal is the term I believe. The amount of information out there is so vast it is imposable to broadcast it all. Congress has hundreds of hours of sessions going on but you will be lucky to see 10 minutes of it on the news. Disasters happen all the time but there is only so many that can be reported on. That is why multiple sources of news should be referenced because things will be left out and the more sources the closer to the truth you can get.

It is quick and efficient so we can spend less time watching TV and more time on the computer. And no it is not censorship. Censorship means you are not allowed to read or view certain material. The info you want is out there and you are welcome to gather it. No one promised to hand deliver it to us.

Sometimes you only have a minute to make your point, and a sound bite is a quick and easy way to get your point across.

The term "sound-bite" is itself a sound-bite. Why did you use it?
